Malaysia is beautiful to explore — but a long road trip requires preparation, not just snacks and playlists.
Before you go:
- Check tyre pressure and condition
- Top up all fluids — coolant, engine oil, wiper water
- Ensure lights and signals work
- Pack an emergency kit — tools, jumper cables, flashlight
- Have a power bank & phone charger in the car
It’s also a good idea to get your car serviced or inspected at least one week before your trip. This gives the mechanic time to detect and fix anything that might become a problem on the road.
Make sure your spare tyre is fully inflated and the jack tools are in good condition. A flat tyre in the middle of nowhere can quickly ruin your travel plans if you’re not prepared.
Keep emergency contacts and workshop locations handy — especially if you’re driving through rural areas like Gua Musang or along the East Coast Highway (LPT). Not all towns have 24-hour workshops.
Road safety is not just about your driving — it’s also about your car’s readiness.
